We just got put on standby Hurricane Gustaf alert at my office, meaning that we may be needed to man workstations in support of the Hurricane Center if activated. Latest projections have it reaching Louisiana no earlier than 8PM Sunday and it could turn away far before that. But if it heads anywhere near here it could get the game postponed or canceled. If it's a day out and the game is played, it could be overcast and rainy.
NO NO NO!! ive already had to cancel a trip because i have to have more surgery. i dont want to lose going to any more games. *okie throws a hissy fit*
You can expect our politicians to overreact if a hurricane comes anywhere near New Orleans. If mandatory evacuation traffic happens before game day . . . fuggetaboutit!
I'm not much for overreacting, but overreacting might beat what they did last time. However I don't think Baton Rouge can handle many more New Orleans criminals running the streets.
Whew, I can't even imagine the traffic this time, since the BR traffic is way worse now than it was 3 years ago.
From what I have heard and read, they are talking about landfall being Monday Night or Tuesday Morning. The problem is the new procedeers put in place in NO after Katrina start to go into effect 62 hours before landfall. Which could in fact postpone the game Saturday.
From what they were saying on the tv just a bit ago people that have no way out of NO will either be sent by bus to Sheveport or Monroe OR sent to Jackson by Amtrack
