On the Gamecock forum there is a thread about how LSU is coached to take cheap shots and the refs let us get away with it. One post stated that LSU is a hard hitting team, but sometimes it hits harder than is necessary. Sorry, but I did not see any cheap shots by LSU in this game unless you count the roughing the pass penalty. But we got called on it, and that is the kind of things that happen in football. When it comes to hitting hard, I don't know what is "necessary." What do they want Miles to do? Tell the defense not to hit too hard? There were a bunch of whiners on that thread.
Not the first time for them, though. Remember last year, the punt where a flag came flying in and, according to CockNation, at least 3 LSU players realized the play was going to be called back, and spontaneously took advantage of the opportunity to take cheap shots? Face it, these are people who are simply don't know what hard hitting football looks like, until the Tigers come to town every few years and show them.
Gamecock fans are some of the biggest whiners in football. They're so used to losing they've had a lot of practice.
last year has alot to do with this. they are sore over that game and being 0-2 vs us in 07 and 08 doesn't help their viewpoint.
They should be complaining about their coaching. How many times do run up the middle for no gain and not catch on that it is not working? How many times do you get blitzed and not check out of it (or keep a running back in the backfield to block)? And how many times does Coach Miles have to outcoach your Old Ball coach before you get sick of it and realize that there is a reason why your football dynasty consists of one ACC title won in the 60's? They should really worry about the fact that Clemson recruits better than they do and they are the major state university. The fact that LSU hits harder than them and plays with more intensity is not what they should be complaining about, as that is just a sympton of their many problems.
Note to Gamerichard fans, why not look within and figure out why you lost ? See the many threads on this forum after we lost to Florida last. LSU hits too hard ... get real !
I read some of the posts over there for a while. That is one whiny fanbase. Too used to losing for too long.
I guess perspective is everything. My biggest complaint about LSU this year is the lack of intensity, emotion, and physicality from what is supposed to be a top tier unit. Until Sheppard decapitated that guy in the flat late in last nigh's game, I have been really disappointed in this D. They don't seem to be getting any hits ony anyone. Lots of arm tackling and swiping at the air. D-Line hasn't just taken over any games yet this year, and our Linebackers don't strike fear into anyone just yet. However, immediately after Sheppard crushed that guy, it looked like the light switch flipped on. Suddenly, they were playing with that fire in their bellies again. It's like if that hit reminded them f what they were supposed to be doing all year, and they suddenly remembered how fun it was to wayah somebody. Hopefully from this point on we'll BE that hard hitting team we were supposed to be all along.
