Come to the stadium anyway. I can almost guarantee you will find a pair of tickets from someone selling them outside the stadium on game day. And for Kentucky, they will more than likely be reasonably priced. Don't be too anxious in buying them, and don't get nervous if it gets close to kickoff time and you still haven't bought. Scalpers tend to go down on prices in the final hour before kickoff so they can get off the tickets cheaper rather than eating them.. The absolute worst thing that can happen (and it likely won't) is you don't get any tickets and end up outside the stadium at a big tailgate party watching it on big TV and drinking like a madman. Either way, I promise you'll have a blast. :thumb:
Cheers Swerved, don't worry you can take it as a given I'll be at the Stadium no matter what, and the drinking at sports events part comes naturally to the English. I'm hoping its an afternoon or evening kick off so we get plenty of time to drink pre game and have a laugh with the locals. I'm hopeful that all this will be academic, and my man in BR will flash two tickets under my nose on the day, and we'll be sorted. But if not, I fancy waiting till the 11th hour to get some of some scalpers, I like a gamble so would leave it close to kick off. My only concern would be whether they are fake or not. I can't wait! Whatever happens regarding tickets etc, I can't wait to experience pre game, the game, post game. Everything. Better go practice my (posh english accent) I think I'll go for a combination of Hugh Grant, Austin Powers and Maybe Prince William, although I'm not posh at all, live some distance from london, I'm not sure I can pull it off.
One of the easiest ways to tell if tickets are genuine is to have the person you're buying them from walk to the gate with you so they can be there when the tickets are scanned. If they're fakes, there's a very good chance the seller won't want to get within 100 yards of the gate. And I really don't think you need to practice an accent at all. Speak the way you normally do and you'll likely have beautiful Bayou babes falling all over you. Best of luck. :thumb:
What are you suggesting wjray? I'm here for the football and beer Not sure the Nottingham accent is exotic enough for the locals (its a bit dull IMO), but is definitely different I guess. Roll on 1st October
