Wasn't Bama undefeated in the first game of the century? Seems like they have lost to a two loss team already this year.
I thought the Game of the Century was in 2011. I remember liking the regular season but really can't recall anything else.
I like your thought process, I too believe we have a group that is very capable of beating Bama, even moreso than the two last second Tiger losses. This LSU team has even more potential than any LSU team since 2007. We match up very well with them across the board and have an edge I believe at several positions.
If you're making a judgment on the offense of '15 based on '14 it's an apples and oranges comparison from the start. Just to begin they are back to running an ACE formation the majority of the time. That's a '11 trait along with running out of the Pistol instead of the shotgun. What you see as average I see as efficient. It's certainly not pretty, but it's certainly not one of the conferences "average offenses." The lowest you'll find (glancing at ESPN's stats as example) is a passing game ranked fifth in the conference: a top five that consists of teams without a running game. "You can look at stats or watch their games. I dont know what to tell you." You can tell me you made a hasty comment.
The FG kicker appears to be getting back on track. Since game two (MTSU) he's hit 8 of his last 10. I can't really fault anyone, especially the punt coverage unit, for that punt return TD. The punter had his issues when the season began seemingly losing 8-10 yard on punts (mechanics with his drop.) That return was a 68 yarder where the punter out-kicked the coverage. It's more on the specialist versus special teams. I'm not concerned with it being an "issue." A couple of those fumbles have been ... odd. They haven't been the ball being stripped but it being hit out by a teammates foot falling over, etc. Just some weird stuff this season. (I've seen more than a few call for the special teams coach to be fired for things like those fumbles. I've asked, but yet to be answered, questions like "Who teaches ball security to a defensive back? The Special teams coach?" Over the years I've found very, very few people understand how special teams unit's and players are coached.)
Hasty? Do you watch games? If you used stats to evaluate our passing O you'd think we played with 8 guys on the field. We all know why our passing stats look the way they do. Bama is VERY average. They had 3 pick 6's vs A&M and won by......... 18 They have also turned the ball over 13 times in 7 games......... I'd like to know how that is efficient. Coker is bad.
