After living in Baton Rouge for 3 years, I am excited to finally be able to attend a LSU home game when WVU comes to town on September 25th. I had a few of questions I hoped the experienced game day fan could help me with:

    (a) How early should one arrive to get a parking space in the Levee Lots or the Hayfield Lot?

    (b) How long does it generally take to get from the exit off I-10 to these parking lots on game day?

    (c) How soon before kickoff does one typically allow to get situated in the stadium?

    Thanks!
    Liam

Just be sure to invest in a very comfortable pair of shoes. Traffic is a nightmare and the walks are very long.

4 hours will make it work

    about 30 min from I-10 maybe 40

that will give you some free time before kick-off

4 hours before kickoff will work. Traffic gets really bad after that.

Depends on which exit. Avoid Dalrymple and Acadian if you're going to the grass lots. I'd take a downtown exit and take the river road south.

You want to be in your seats a half-hour before kickoff to see Mike the Tiger's entrance and the Tiger Band pre-game routine, which is absolutely essential.

    Welcome to the board.

I like to leave the Northshore around 7:00 and get up to the parade grounds for the tailgates early...there's NO traffic then. I park by the ag center pretty close to Highland road...plenty of spaces.

Once you get to the parade grounds, there's plenty to do...lots of people you can meet...it's going on.

Thanks for the tips. Sounds like the Levee Lots and the Hayfield are safe bets of you get there early enough?

    Go Tigers!

Go early in the morning, park closer, walk around and take in the sights.

Nootch taught me a great trick, bring a styro ice chest and just leave it near a trash can when you're done. Don't have to worry about it when you enter TS.

Been doing that cooler trick for awhile. It's the best thing to do.

    Listen to this man...

Just leave early and won't have to worry about all that. Park close, minimal traffic, eat, drink, socialize, watch the band come down the hill, see mike, drink some more, etc...
