Nope.....I told everyone i knew it would close until the second half.....I knew Georgia would throw the kitchen sink at lsu, and hats off to georgia, they did everything they could do, held lsu to NO first downs in the first half, but in the end LSU is just to talented in EVERY phase of the game. Playing LSU is kind of like racing against a locomotive, you may jump out faster than the locomotive, but when the locomotive gets a head of steam, you just cant stop them!!
I was actually taking a piss when I heard everybody start screaming on the Honey Badger punt return, made them rewind it. At that point I knew we were on the scene and Les Miles had aligned his wrecking ball. I was not worried but a little surprised and frustrated with the zero first downs. But in the end, it just really goes to show what we as fans have been trying to tell other fans all year, our depth is unbelievable. So many doubters have witnessed and experienced it. Duck fans, Eer fans, Hog fans, Dawg Fans, AU fans, Gator fans, all but delusional gump fans. Except the real ones, they know that in OT, Bama was toast, moved backwards. LSU, was just getting warmed up to play another 4 quarters. If we rematch, a full first half on JJ and LSU pounding up the gut, side line to sideline and then over the top, rinse, lather, repeat.........Bama gets much more tired quicker. Run the ball, stop the run, win field position, TOP, TO battle and special teams = LSU National Champions The beginning of State, Bama, Arky, and UGA games, we were losing the field position and TOP battle..... And we were struggling. That is how you beat us. Question is, how do u beat us at it for 60 minutes???
If anyone worried, it was because we had become accustomed to watching the LSU team of the prior two years.
I was very concerned due to our O-Line getting their butts handed to them. Once TM7 ran the punt back I took a long deep breath and began to feel a little better. Funny how that happens when your blood pressure returns to normal.
I was but my wife was not. She is convinced that sometimes Coach Miles has the Tigers play just good enough to keep it close and use the first quarter and a half to scout the other team.
Same here. It is hard to believe a team could play so bad in the first half and roll a team like we did by the end. That said, GA had our number to begin with. We got knocked off our game for the first time really this year and it showed. We were a little shellshocked on offense I think. You could tell we had our focus and control back in the second half. This team is special. :miles::crystal::miles:
I wasn't smoking anything, but I did drink half a bottle of wine during the 2nd quarter. That mellowed me out a good bit.
In the first quarter and a half , I was concerned about a possible upset. In retrospect, the LSU D seemed to have tightened up and held Georgia down in the 2nd QTR to stabilise matters although the LSU offense was still ineffective. Felt better once Tyrann scored the TD and I knew we are back in the game. It seems the emotion that Georgia ran on in the first half fizzled out in the second half, compounded by the one-two-three gut punches by LSU in the 3rd QTR. Still can't figure out why the Georgia D that was so stellar in stifling the LSU run game in the first half just disappeared starting the 3rd QTR. Suspect part of it was the shellshocking turnover in their end of the field with their first drive.
