Exactly, even if the other guy isn't bringing him down, it is bad technique to go in with your head down and dangerous to both players if you do.
I found the play and it was by no means an illegal tackle. 7:30 left in the 4th quarter, UGA had a 3rd and 13. Alem was chasing him from behind, dove at him, and Coleman's ankle tackle spun King around and they collided. It was a very quick hit and in full speed you would have never noticed it. Very misleading picture.
Thanks. 100% legal hit. Yes as was stated, proper form was to have his head up the entire time but the hit was still clean. And apparently the photo has nothing whatsoever to do with King's broken jaw. If he was injured in the first half and this play took place half way through the 4th, then the hit pictured is unrelated to the injury.
My hat is off to anyone who can continue to play SEC football w/ a freshly broken jaw. I can't imagine how much that must've hurt.
Even if that were it, it was incidental. King spun around at the last second and ended up facing Alem. Had he not spun around, Alem would have hit him from behind and helped on the tackle. Nothing to see here.
yeah i'm not arguing that, i don't care how it happened. just saying that according to the OP it happened in the first half.
