LSU schedule openings who would you like to see us play? 2010 - 1 2011 - 0 2012 - 1 2013 - 4 2014 - 3 2015 - 3 2016 - 4 I would like to see us play UAB, Army, Cincinnati, Colorado St, Duke, Florida St, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio St., Oklahoma, Penn St., Rutgers, USC, SMU, Southern Miss (2010), Stanford, Syracuse, Texas, and Virginia Tech. These are all the schools in D1 that we have eith a losing record against in the series or tied.
Considering how expensive some of these "rent a wins" are these days, is it really better economically for LSU to schedule them instead of a home/away series? Especially when you consider lower attendance like we suffered for Tulane last weekend. Besides general unhappiness from the fans, the $ do not seem to balance out to me. Who to play? Would love a series with any or all. With TV, we have the budget to make it happen. Texas Texas A&M Oklahoma Nebraska Ohio St Michigan USC Cal Oregon FSU Miami Notre Dame Penn State Missouri
I'd really love to see us play the amazing new startup program, University of South Alabama Jaguars! They play their first season in '09 and first DI-A season in '13 Ok, ok so i'm about to graduate from there, but i'd love to see South play LSU, it would make my freaking life. We are already scheduled to play Florida in '12, Tenn in '13 And a 4 year Home and Home series with navy beginning in '13
Houston University. Good for recruiting and a good, solid little test. they have a good program out there.
I want to see games against BCS conference schools, at least two per year, even if those teams are bottom of the barrel or middle of the pack (e.g., teams like Baylor, Duke, Washington, etc. are OK).
I know most people disagree with me, but I will answer truthfully. Since we have to play FL every year, and on top of that play in the SECCG if we win the west, I would rather play home games only. I don't care if it is against Northwestern Southern Texas State. With enough wins against top SEC opponents, LSU has a great shot at getting in the NCG with one loss. That is my story and I'm sticking to it. Monroe, AZ, Western Ill., LaTech. That was our OOCS in 2003. It worked out just fine. I know the comeback, VA Tech was an OOC team in 2007, and we went with 2 losses. It was a freak season that allowed a 2 loss team in, and we won the best conference to get in. You cannot count on ever getting in with 2 losses again. It was a freak season that had 3 undefeateds from major conferences, and OOC did keep AU out. Look at FL in the 90's, all those great teams, and one NC. Playing too hard of an OOC schedule is why. They played FL St and Miami every year, and it cost them. Look at USC, oh never mind, they just suck.
I pay too much $ for tickets every year to get fired up about North Tx, Troy, App St, and Tulane for home games. Especially in an even year when Auburn and Florida are away. I understand the difficulty of winning them all, but we have not done that in my lifetime. Our BCS ranking is directly related to who we play and you can look right at USC for an example of winning and dropping. You play up to better competition or you play down to lesser. Either way, the big $ boosters are not going to continue to shell out millions to watch boring games, regardless of our record.
