Probably need some confirmation but the article says bumped which probaly means we will not be playing the home and home series. Opportunity for Herb Vincent with no lack of time to get a great series in its place. Colorado Buffaloes Fresno State Bulldogs "Buffs add Fresno State to 2011-2013 sked" - Realfootball365.com
see, this is the kind of stuff that kills me about scheduling. did LSU have a say in the matter???? did we just let CU out of a contract?????? WHY!!!!????? this is BS!!!!!! this is the reason why we have app states on our schedule!!!!o: if our athletic dept is allowing this to happen, they should be held accountable. last year we benefitted from VT being on the schedule to win a NC but real soon the flipside may come to bite us in the rear. we're not some mid major who you can just bump cuz you get a game you feel better about! we're the two crystal ball having program of the 2000's LSU defending nat'l champion tigers and when you sign a contract with us you sign up for two beatdowns, one at your house and one at ours. and there should be no getting out of it!!!! :angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire if our ath dept continues to bump prices and have TAF strongarm our fan base, we should have a right to have one decent ooc game a year. with 4 slots, that shouldn't be hard. they need to be held accountable for better scheduling practices. :cuss:
Strange, no mention of it in either of the Denver papers. The CU web site still shows them travelling to Baton Rouge in 2011. Edit: I guess I should have read the Boulder paper.
I hope it doesn't happen, but I guess I can't control that. OBTW, what happened to the Arizona State games we were supposed to have. I thought the deal was that while the 2005 game was played in Arizona, that another game would be played in AZ in 2008 and a game in BR would be scheduled in the future. Now if you look at the future schedules, no games vs AZ St are listed. I don't remember any announcements. What gives? GEAUX TIGERS
Pretty easy decision for CU because now they are getting 2 home games to make revenue off of instead of 1 against LSU and their schedule for the next 8-10 years already has many BCS non conference games scheduled.
Simmah down, now. LSU isn't going to make a big issue out of this because we do the same thing ourselves all of the time. Sometimes it's in our best interests to drop schools or change dates in order to fill a schedule favorably. We've done it many times, A&M is still mad about being dropped by LSU. We dropped our traditional rival, Tulane, for many years. VT postponed their return game against us with less than a year to go making it difficult for LSU to schedule another opponent. That's the kind of BS that buyout clauses are made for. But we didn't even have a signed contract with Colorado, just an agreement in principle. It's not that big a deal and I doubt if LSU is surprised by it. We could even have somethng to do with it, in order to schedule something we're working on. These scheduling AD guys talk all of the time and float proposals, some of which (if they become contracts), screw up other proposals. This stuff happens all the time.
Key point. The fact that a contract wasn't signed allows both teams to keep options open. It's only an engagement, not a marriage until both parties sign on the dotted line. :hihi:
