Punktrino isn't a better X's and O's guy than Miles. Miles played and learned from one of the best to ever walk a sideline. Punktrino is a punk and unless Arkansas learns to play defense which under Punktrino isn't likely they won't win a NC.
I actually have a lot of respect for his X's and O's. Offensively I think he is up there with someone like a Sean Payton, or just below. I have no respect for him as a human being, however. If he sleeps well at night, oh well. He has no conscience then.
Yea man, he is a better X's & O's guy. Miles is a great all around coach, knows tons about the game, but as far as drawing up plays, Petrino is very good at it. He's a good offensive coordinator, but not head coach. As far as his human skills are concerned, the guy is a huge, discrace to the Italian race, POS! He has no character...Miles writes the book on it! I wouldn't trade Les for anybody else! BTW, speaking of Payton, could you imagine him as our O-Coordinator? WOW! We would beat the spread by 30+ every game!
Regardless, a college HC does not have to be a great XO guy...there are coordinators for that. He must be a great leader, a motivator, a teacher, someone that inspires with deeds and how he acts and behaves every day. CLM is like a second father to most of his guys. This is what makes him great.
My point exactly he's an offensive coordinator. Maybe he should learn a bit about defense before being crowned a great Xs and Os guy. IMO you need to have some skills on both sides of the ball.
If Petrino coached for LSU, we wouldn't get the recruits. One of Les' great attributes is his recruiting. He's a personable coach that players want to play for. We are stacked and deep because of this. Petrino has burnt so many bridges that a recruit can't count on him being there.
It should not be forgotten that Petrino interviewed for the LSU head coaching job that eventually went to Les. It has been said that Petrino came to the interview assuming the job was his for the asking and started making demands. He was so arrogant and graceless to Skip Bertman that he was told at the end of the visit that he would not even be considered the job.
