you know we all used to make fun of crispy cream phil, and laugh when he was photoshopped onto the looter with donuts..... but listening to that press conference yesterday was really sad. i have to admit i like him alot more now that i heard that then i ever gave him credit for, he handled that with class considering how much he loves the university of tennessee. i dont think he will ever coach anywhere else, i hope Tennessee has an office job for him or something.

I dont feel sorry for him and I dont think he handled it with that much class. It was ok I guess but he was in complete denial and still contending that he and his staff would turn it around. His players were hurling insults at the media with 4 letter words and derogatory comments and Phatimus didnt do anything to stop it. If you only watched his speech you missed the most glaring part afterward. It was a circus complete with clowns and animals.

"He's probably 16, 17 years there, probably long enough. It wasn't working very well, so I think everybody understands when it starts going bad, they've gotta make changes."

"But congratulate him on hitting that lottery ticket. That's a big ticket he got." "I don't know whether to feel sorry for coach or congratulate him for the biggest buyout in the history of college football. He got the best deal ever, I think."

Anyone want to guess which coach said this? :hihi:

Considering how poorly Phil has done there of late, I would think Phil stepping down, new coach coming in and a chance for resurgence of Tenn would be a bad thing for rival teams. Kind of like Clemson losing Bowden. Funny to see rival fans celebrate these departures.

If these two guys were anchors, isn't it a matter of time before they rise again?
