Absolutely. We are in this situation more years than we are not. Coaches have to over sign to compensate for attrition. And there is alway attrition every off-season. 1 or 2 will flunk out. 1 or 2 will transfer to find more playing time as upperclassmen. 1 or 2 will be dismissed for breaking team rules 1 or 2 will quit football for medical or personal reasons. That usually provides room under the 85 for an oversigned roster if the coaches can stagger classes properly under the 25. Les Miles' first class was the only recruiting class in recent memory that could not sign the full allotment or more because of high retention under Nick and because Les wasn't going to ax a bunch of existing players just to get his new guys on board. But he can if he needs to. Walk-ons who have earned scholarships can be asked to give them up if they are not starting. Scholarship upperclassmen who have not measured up to expectations can be "encouraged" to find some greener pastures. An oversigned team in the spring tends to make it a very bad situation for any obvious slackers or troublemakers.
THe rating services haven't really come out so they gave a bunch of prospects 3 and 4 stars until the rankings are released. We have at least 5* in Collins and likely another in Freak Johnson. All the others are likely 4 stars when the rankings come out. Landry and Hilliard being high 4*.
Do you think either of them will get bumped up to 5? From all the video of Landry, I don't see how he couldn't be a 5*.
Yes it could happen. I just don't think they will start off as 5 stars. It looks like Scout is going to list Rasco as the top prospect from LA which is not correct IMO. Landry will not start as a 5* purely because of his height and weight. He plays like a 5* IMO and has that Gore mentality in that he plays much bigger than he is.
BhelmLSU, LSU is on Quintin Thomas a TE out of Breaux Bridge. He is a round 6'-2" and 270#, what are our chances of getting him and will Coach Chavis move him inside (DT) because to me he looks more like a DT than an DE? !twocrystals!
He is all DT and never played TE from what I understand. LSU is the strong leader and I don't see him making the call until after the summer.
No more than 9 or 10. Looks like we're planning on LOTS of attrition. I wonder who the transfers will be? I'm guessing we lose a bunch of guys from the '08 and '09 signing classes. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
