Why would anyone question the decision? The ratings are historical fact and at the time, at that point in the season, it made all the sense in the world. And it still had 3M more viewers than LSU/Florida. Ratings tend to increase as the season progresses and the play-off race tightens. Add in rivalry games and we should expect ratings to be high. The thing about Notre Dame is they have national appeal, not just regional. Vested? Not really. I've been posting here for a minute and I favored UGA years ago. I have no interest outside of that. I'm not the one attending, I just like college football.
Code: 'bows politely' Their argument is based on the appeal of LSU @ UA as the featured game of the double header day. I'm not questioning the decision of CBS, I'm merely mentioning I've seen many a fan say they'd rather have been watching this years game than the other. The numbers I posted earlier support the CBS decision, They could have been better with a different selection. CBS? Win, win. They like 11/9 in the afternoon.
I get it, both sides. It's a guaranteed view, and unique appearance, for CBS to have Notre Dame. They'd have been a fool not to pick it up. A nice November afternoon game in the south ... I'm good with it.
