Stealing Highly rated out of state recruits wasn't happening for LSU last year, maybe things will go better this year but I'm thinking we better push hard for the local & area players that the coach's want & get them to commit asap..
Keep questioning them...so far, it's worked like a charm, TC. See below. It isn't like nobody has ever heard of him. Like Parso said, just because some of us haven't...that doesn't make him an unknown. Teams like AU and UcheaT, and especially USC, don't show interest in "unknowns". I don't think any of us have the insight on players that the coaches have, and I for one won't complain about any recruit that the coaches go after...if said recruit is sporting a 3.8!:thumb: But I'm sure there will be some that gripe and complain when we don't go after Lacy.:rolleye33:
I see your point, but showing interest and being offered is a big difference. We're not even what level of "showing interest" he is getting, especially from USC.
Actually, I beleive he has an offer from USC...(University of South Carolina)...so that may be who the article is talking about. But my point was that it's funny how people keep doubting the coaching staff after what has been accomplished in the past couple of years. I'm beginning to think that, deep down, even LSU fans aren't sure it wasn't just because of Saban's players...but they sure pitch fits when others say it.:huh:
I don't know that anyone is doubting the coaching staff. This kid was off of most of our radar given we are only expected to sign 2 or 3 WR's. As CParso said, we expect 2 LA boys to sign and if we have room for one more, most were hoping it would be Brown. People are surprised because of the circumstances and we have little information on the guy. Like I said he really didn't catch that many passes last year and the 11th ranked guy in SC is usually a 3 star player so no one expected it.
Correct tboy, the questioning at this point is whether Suber getting a committable offer is true or not.
Following that line of thinking then Calhoun the 30 ranked player in Georgia will be a three star also?? I guess he got a good offer being as he committed? Strange...
when they redo their rankings, I bet he ends up in their top 10 ala Jordan Jefferson, who I think was 17th in our list and shot up into the top 5 at year's end (Louisiana rivals listing)
Yet nobody wants to think that...MAYBE...Suber will look a lot better after they redo their rankings? Listen, I understand most of the questions...and personally have no idea whether the kid is getting a committable offer...or ANY offer for that matter. I just think it's sad that...after the success that we have enjoyed lately...people are so insecure with our situation that they post things like this... Its hard - no impossible for me to keep up with our coaches & what they are thinking from day to day.. I just don't understand the questioning of the coaches...the CURRENT UNANIMOUS NATIONAL CHAMPION COACHES!!
