Hey Everyone - just wanted to stop by and say a sincere thank you for a great time (despite the result). We were there with a bunch of WVU people and had a wonderful time. The tailgating was everything people told me it would be - amazing. The drinking is about the same everywhere, but you guys really know how to make it a complete experience with the food and atmosphere - love that your stadium and tailgating is right on campus. Beautiful women, dressed nicely, everyone having a great time. We met a few jerks that were drunk and trying to start fights, but we just kept walking and for the most part everyone was great. We made lots of friends and I hope that we can be at least half as welcoming next year - great time. The stadium....well....not sure what to say there without annoying you. It was an awesome place, HUGE. But I definitely could tell the crowd wasn't into it. I know it has to be hard with that offense - not terrible, but definitely not exciting. Again, the fans were great. Loved the band and your traditions - the cheers, etc. Just didn't feel that Death Valley Saturday night intimidation. It seemed to get loud on the last two drives when it was close, but by then it seemed like a lot of your fans had left. Oh well - it happens to us too - especially the students. As for the game itself, well good game I guess. Your defense is everything people said it was and Pat Pete is amazing. Why on earth our dipsh*t coaches punted to him in the middle of the field I will never understand. We did exactly what we said all week that we could not do - make mistakes. The missed field goals, turnover on the 7 yard line, and kicking to PP were killers. You all are very tough to beat at home and we just couldn't afford that kind of game. Once again, THANK YOU to all of the wonderful LSU fans we met (and didn't meet). I can only hope that someday, somehow we are lucky enough to join your conference and get out of Big Least hell so that we can meet on a regular basis! Hope you all have a great rest of the season. :geaux:
Welcome to TigerFan and hang around. We want to learn a whole lot more about West Virginia before we play at your place next year. No, the stadium did not rise to deafening in this game. It wasn't a close game in the first half and the crowd was annoyed at their own offense in the second.
The W Va fans I ran into inside and outside the stadium were all very nice people. Thanks for the kind words.
