One thing NOT to do is inject it with crab boil and am speaking from experience. Absolutely awful. Agree the creole butter is the best marinade.
You are probably right. I injected one of those little bottles. Way to strong. Turkey tasted like I was drinking the crab boil.
The first fried turkey I ever had was back in the 80's @ my dad's college roommate's house. He used crab boil (probably not a whole bottle), and it was really good.
Re: Frying turkey X-mas There are multiple recipes and suggestions, both canned and homemade, listed above.
I went with the Cajun Injector Creole Butter. It comes with a shaker of seasoning to put on the outside. I used the whole thing and coated it well. I put it in the fridge overnight after injecting it. What I did was put the Turkey in about 3 minutes at 350 degrees to get it brown, then removed it and waited until the oil got to about 260 and put it back in the oil until it starts to float. I used a basket to hold the turkey. I just skewered the legs to the breasts and tied the legs together to keep it together. Breast down, and make sure it doesn't stick to the basket or it will never float . It took 2 of those large cases of oil, I used peanut, and saved some to help cool the oil before I started to fry it the second time.

I am frying a turkey for Thanksgiving. Going to do the Tony's creole butter. I do have a question though. What's the best type of stuffing to use when frying a turkey and how to you keep the stuffing in the turkey while frying it? this is a joke.... I am not going to put stuffing.... need humor on here right now..... badly...
