Absolutely...because I would take that day off every year. It's bad enough that we're one of the only districts around that doesn't take off the ENTIRE week of Thanksgiving. We have to work on Monday & Tuesday, too.

I am perfectly fine with the game being played on Saturday. Who should we start harassing, I mean petitioning, for the night game?

Petition CBS to not pick up the game; that's the only certainty right now.

I'm not sure what the schedule will be with this new ESPN deal; could we possibly have the after Gameday game now?

The crowd is usually dead, just doesn't have the same feel as a Saturday game.

The Friday game always sucked. It was always a day game, Now we'll have an extra night game opportunity every other year. It happened right in the middle of a holiday weekend and many students went home. Those season ticket holders that travel to family for Easter always had to turn around after Easter dinner and go right back home to make the game.

Arkansas has never been a particularly big rivalry for us. We don't recruit against them, they don't have a long SEC history, and they still seem like a misplaced Southwest Conference team to a lot of us. It took CBS long enough to realize that there was no particular passion for this game on either side.

It was vital national TV exposure for LSU back in the miserable 90's. But LSU gets plenty of national TV opportunities these days, almost every week.

I will not miss the Black Friday Game.

Auburn was the only SEC member to vote against the move. Friday games suck.

i knew something wasn't right about that statement. :hihi:

really though, i don't see the big deal. the whole thing about the crowd "not being up" for day games is hogwash, IMO. if you can't get up for LSU football, pass the tickets on to someone who can. play in the day, play at night, play at two in the morning, fact of that matter is that LSU has to play when LSU has to play. that's the price you pay when your program excels. i thought we've been through this at least 2 million times since, oh, around 2003?

I couldn't agree with you more! I know some folks are probably more into the tailgating than the game, but I'm all about the main event, the contest.

I liked the Friday time slot for that game for purely selfish reasons of it fitting my vacation from work better, but I'll still be there for a Saturday, as well. My older daughter is clamoring at the chance to visit Tiger Stadium again--she's hooked!
