Apparently the French Quarter has been swamped with buckeye fans wondering where everyone is at. Guess they dont realize that place doesnt wake up till midnight :hihi: Seriously, my brother was out there this afternoon and he said there are a hell of a lot of buckeye fans out there.
that's how it was last year with notre dame and 2001 with illinois. most people for lsu are in either br or the nola area so they probably won't be in the quarter like osu. on top of that osu fans have to stay in nola and treat it like a vacation because... it is for them.
you guys may have a home field advantage in da dome. But outside? If partying is involved...buckeye fans will feel right at home.
Probably after most church tomorrow the purple and gold flood gates will open. The drinking will start at sun down on sunday and will not stop until Tuesday about noon.
That shouldn't be surprising. Ohio State is the largest university in the United States. Add that to the fact that Ohio State has had one of the greatest football programs for many, many, many years. Ohio State has over 425,000 living alumni (according to wikipedia). Here is how other schools compare when it comes to number of living alumni: 350,000 -- Texas 265,000 -- Penn State 264,437 -- Tennessee 258,595 -- Alabama 250,000 -- Florida 190,000 -- Georgia, Auburn, Florida State 150,000 -- LSU 112,000 -- Arkansas 85,000 -- Clemson http://www.clc.com/clcweb/publishing.nsf/Content/institutions.html
That's my plan will be there from sunday around noon till tuesday morning. Can't wait! I'm 2003 sunday and monday we way out numbered OU and will do the same starting tomorow.
Pretty much the entire state is donning P&G. OSU travels well it's true -- but it's going to be very different come monday.
Illinois has a lot of living alumni as well: 300,000. ND's fan base is legendary. How else could ND get a contract with NBC to televise every one of their home games?
I live in DC, and there seems to be a theme along the eastern seaboard involving the "bandwagon 4". Basically, on the east coast, for the most part, people dont care too much about college football. So unless your an alum of a major program, you jump on the bandwagon of one of four team: Michigan, Texas, Florida or ND. Especially that last one. I just dont get it.
