i disagree with alot of what he says, and he is clearly a pretentious asshole, but he should be respected for saying what he thinks, which almost nobody really does. seriously nobody does that. saying what you think always makes you look like an asshole if you are smart at all. also mctiger is right about fear and capitulation, thats exactly my point. even bush did it. not as much though.
then again i ask what specifically was reprehensible according to hillary and disgusting according to obama
That's the thing though Martin, what should our government do? Bin Laden said in his journal that he expected the US to make war with Islam and not him and al queda. I think our government should do what they have done, BUT, they also need to defend our right to say whatever the fuck we want. Muslims need to understand that while they may not all be extremists, there are a lot who are. And I'm sorry again, Islam is a terrible, terrible religion.
Hate speech. The kind of stuff Hitler said in the '30's that ended up in mass genocide in the '40's. We are free to make hateful speech in this country, but it is morally reprehensible and and disgusting . . . to everybody but you and Adolph. Hate mongering leads to hate crimes and genocide. It is right to discourage and disparage this practice even as we accept the right to free speech.
i dunno man. thats what i am figuring out. thats why i am thinking out loud. i do know that we as a society and our leaders need to stop fucking around being PC and say what things are. we need to admit that islam is a problem. i would say that we need to admit that religion in general is a problem, but thats too ambitious. cant expect anyone to actually be sane. i really dont know because i am aware that there are peaceful muslims like there are peaceful christians, and i know and like them, being honest sometimes makes people hate you worse (but maybe not, sometimes they respect that), but its to the point now where we should just say fuck it and call people out for being part of a faith-based cult. red always thinks as if everything i a public relations problem, and i understand that but i also dont think we should ever be pussies. we are sooooo far from being sane as a species. lasalle, i saw your pal doug stanhope on that episode of louie, man that guy is hardcore.
what specifically was hate speech? it is reprehensible that i hate the yankees? which groups can i hate? furthermore, why is hating things or people or ideas wrong in any way? isnt the violence the thing that is wrong?
Yea I don't know either, I agree with you though. Religions in my opinion are dangerous, to completely close your mind off and accept something that cannot be proven is utterly ridiculous. The people who created these religions though, they knew what they were doing. Yea man, check out Doug's stand up on Netflix called No Refunds, it's one of the best stand up performances I've ever seen.
this is not an either/or scenario. this is the united states and we are free to exercise our own right to free speech and call his video reprehensible or, for that matter, anything else we want. further, the president and the secretary of state are free to express their own opinions just as much as you and I. it is entirely possible to, at the same time, condemn the violence in the middle east as well as call the video disgusting and reprehensible. your dissatisfaction speaks more to your own political bias.
when you speak to the UN you dont say "the yankees suck" or "christianity is awesomer than islam" or "angela merkel looks old". that is personal opinion. when you are president you speak o the UN as a representative of the nation. i am aware that obama has freedom of speech. he can say niggers are cuntfaggots if he wants. i am saying he should never say that if he speaks for america.
