DeMarcus Ware was just released by Cowboys (worst defense in NFL sending their best defensive player packing). <---interesting that this is a Rob Ryan guy. Hmmmm. Pro Bowl Falcon Safety Thomas Decoud expected to be released today.
Dexter McCluster to Titans Lamarr Houston to Chicago Bears (that's nasty right there, son) Donte Whitner to Browns Roger Saffold to OAK
I know that the Saints don't have very much cap room, so a lot of fans are expecting that they will make a big splash in free agency. However, the way contracts and the salary cap are working now, they're going to have an opportunity to get some good players for cheap in a week or so. Teams have money to lock up a handful of players to big contracts and the rest will be used for cheap players, including rookies. A lot of very good veterans with more than a little tread are going to be left out in the cold and playing for the veteran minimum. Anyone over 30 is expendable now. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple recognizable guys sign one-year contracts with the Saints. I hate to see Jenkins go. He's much better than Saints fans give him credit for. His versatility is rare at that position. Now the Saints are going to need to chase down someone that will probably cost more like Bethea or Clemons.
Lots of talk on the social media about Buffalo Bills FS Jairus Byrd. Mike Detellier says: "If the Saints can cut a deal with Buffalo Bills FS Jairus Byrd it would be the most significant Free Agent signing since Drew Brees."
As far as I know, he hasn't even visited the Saints yet. Am I missing something? http://t.co/4dtKKzzz8c
