If they can hold on to Martz as the OC, I think this can be a dynamic duo. This is the best position the franchise has been in coaching wise in quite a while.
gore was carried off a few plays before if you recall. they did so to keep from having to burn 10 seconds is it? this is a large problem for LSU currently. one game with intensity which was already built-in by design. they get no credit for being up for this one. lets see troy. im guessing its close (the score) the entire game.
I was on the road for five hours today. Listed to sports radio on XM the entire time. Singletary is getting roasted for the end of the game, basically only being able to run two plays when there was time for four. Also questioning the run at the end of the game. I like Mike's attitude towards the game, I have no idea if he has what it takes to be a head coach in the NFL.
didnt something similar happen last night where Singletary went and hugged vernon davis as opposed to sending him to the locker room? I heard about it but missed it. plus i didnt have sound on where i was watching the game. also mark roman is still playing safety in the league--on the 49'ers. been in the league quite awhile. as has ryan clark, playing safety for the steelers. both of these guys are pretty darned good.
And drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty but he still went and hugged his coach: As he ran from the end zone, he removed his helmet, his long braids tumbling out, before he remembered that the gesture would yield an unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty - exactly the type of thing that had inflamed Singletary before. He quickly put on the helmet, not in time to fend off the yellow flag, but at least enough to show that he is learning. On the sideline, Singletary congratulated him, reminded him to be smarter and then the two hugged. "It wasn't him who hugged me; it was me who hugged him," Davis told a reporter, emphasizing his enthusiasm for coach. "... Like I said, he's the best coach I've ever had." http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/11/10/SP8M141JO3.DTL&type=49ers Here's a good article setting forth the probs in San Fran: http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/11/12/sports/FBN-Jim-Litke-111208.php Here is Martz's explanation: "Its the officials' fault." http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3696990
