IMO, we don't have to worry about Hunter.

I don't think he can contact recruits unlike Wilson. Wilson replaced someone on staff but as of now McCarthy is still on staff. THe NCAA limits the number of coaches per team.

If that's true, BHelm...you're probably OK to do the Saban "bump". You ought to be on the road to Dallas right now:hihi:.

    BTW, it is official...

Wilson was named RBs coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

I assume that means Yano will continue to coach TEs and might be labeled as an assistant recruiting coordinator. Maybe the Associate Head Coach which Porter also held.

So, bhelm, what you hearing on Stud. I take it that with the changes that have already happened and some of the impending changes that Crowton is safe for this year. I just haven't heard much on Stud yet. Also, I have heard a similar rumor to a possible QB coach. How would this happen with us being limited on the amt of coaches allowed. Is there someone that could be released that we aren't talking about.

Not really hearing much on Stud and Crowton. Not sure what is going to transpire at those positions.

Crowton is still hot on the recruiting trail and most of the recruits feel he is going to be here. Stud has not been mentioned much but he is recruiting.

I would say there is a better chance Stud is replaced and Crowton stays. Usually OCs have a say in who is hired and it would be difficult for LSU to entice a great OC to come here with a staff already in place.

I agree with that, which is why I think Crowton is safe for this yr. Do you think that if Stud is retained that Miles might become even more active in the development of the OL players. Also, about the QB coach, if what I am hearing and what is being reported is true, how would we manage that?

Not sure we could squeeze in a QB coach. Someone would have to go on the current staff. Not including McCarthy. Then that coach would have to take over those QB duties and someone else on the staff would have to coach an additional position.

I don't see anyone besides Stud going. Maybe Miles takes over the OL or Yano and we take on a QB coach. I don't recall if Yano or Robinson have any experience in coaching the OL.

    Don't know...

That was the problem I was running into with the idea of hiring a QB coach. Only logical I could come up with is Stud goes and Miles takes over the OL. But I think that is a stretch.
