Frank sees what I see, this is a very good class, filling needs and adding depth.

i remember a lot of "wtf?" thoughts from fans that were aghast when we gave a scholly to a punter a couple of years ago. (a punter? really? those guys are walk on's!)

were there some missteps this year? yes. but when you consider that lsu has been known to find some diamonds in the rough others dismiss, i think i will wait to see their performance on the field.

:geaux: Agree on Kwon for sure. Can't wait to see him team up with Lorenzo Phillips. Also, Corey Thompson was a great get. :thumb: :LSU231:

This class is far from "Dinardoesque." You may look at the January 2012 and judge this class and you would be wrong to judge it just from that. It does not happen very often, but not every top player in Louisiana wants to play for LSU. I would love it if they did, but not gonna happen. Miles has done a great job of not letting any one position become so depleted that we are in a "have to" type recruiting mode. LSU filled needs with very good players that aparantely have great upsides. 6 LB's, 5 DB's, 4 OL,
5 WR/TE, 1 great RB, 1 QB, and 1 much needed deep snapper. This class may not have the glamour that a lot of people wanted it to have (L. Collins, T. Davis, C. Patterson, etc...), but it is far from Dinardoesque. LSU is going to be just fine.

Absolutely. I don't get how someone can say it's an average class because of someone we DIDN'T get. It makes no sense. I'm glad Frank said what he did. We got great players that fill needs. The 5 star guys we missed out were replaced with excellent players. We are deep and talented before this class even steps foot on campus.

Probably the best LB class ever at LSU. LB has been a position of need for decades and this class is a huge upgrade. Weren't many other positions of need. IMO its a solid and balanced class. We lost some big fish, but Wilson is right, there will be some surprise stars stepping up.

We will have 10 Srs. next year on the roster, the Jr and Soph class will be made up of 44 players, the rest will be RS Frosh and True Fresh. This is still a young roster, but many have tons of playing time. Les and the staff have done a great job of mixing in the younger players.

pretty sure this coaching staff knows what it's doing as far as recognizing and recruiting new talent.

3 of the top 4 players in Bama went out of state, and that is with 2 major in state programs recruiting them. 3 of the top 4 players in Florida signed out of state and that is with 3 super major programs and 3 mid sized programs in state.

Georgia only got 2 of the top 15 in a talent rich state, GA Tech none.

    So on and so as........................................

Be real man sometimes we just ain't going to get all of them. People need to do a little research before they make rash statements!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
