The thing about AD....1974 was the last year they took the vote prior to the end of the season and for him that was before the comeback win against the irish. We went into halftime losing 24-6. Coach McKay had told the team in the locker room at half that AD would run the kickoff back for a TD. On the opening kickoff of the 2nd half, AD had a 102-yard kickoff return helped spur the 55-24 comeback. notre dame still hates his ass. He had some crazy skills. He had a 42.5-yard average on kickoff returns his senior season. He also had 5 National Championships during his time there, 2 in football and 3 in baseball. He's the only player in USC history to start for both a NC football and baseball team. Ricky was one of the nicest human beings you would ever want to know. I think he was underrated.
