Yes, rewards unfortunately go to teams as much as individuals. LSU tanked down the stretch and killed his shot. Maybe next year.
LF7 has 2,775 rushing yards and 6.1 ypc in two seasons with 28 TD's 3,111 yards if you include receptions. 625 more and 1 extra TD from kick off returns from his freshman year. Dont sweat it boys. This kid would absolutely crush some stats if he stayed 4 years. Whats really scary is that if he rushes for 1,300 + he will be 2nd all time in just 3 years. Depending on the bowl game and next season, he literally has a chance to be THE LSU leader in just 3 years.
You know, people compare him to AP. AP averaged 5.4 ypc in college. It was basically that monster Freshman season he had. 339 carries for 1925 yards lol.
The point of the awards, IMO, is that we would even beat Cuse without LF7 and would have a losing record right now.
That's just it though. All they did was run him, he was the only weapon against Alabama in their eyes. After a while of running the same guy, you'd think after the 5th "less than a yard" rush they would have mixed things up and/or HELPED him on the plays. Of course, we know that he isn't their only weapon... Guice really is an amazing player as well and could end up in the running next year if the coaches don't screw him.
