Whats interesting is people accept the invite because it adds to their legacy. What would be fantastic is if he was invited, won it, and then turned it down. He would forever be in the history books as the player who turned down the Heisman Trophy. How fucking awesome would that be.
Are yall the same haters who cry about the officiating nonstop. The heisman has been this way forever. You know going in you have to be on a really good team.
But wait it is meant to go to the "Best all around player" I mean this year alone (along with the last several years) pretty much proves this shit is a glorified miss America contest. Freaking popular player at the time. What would have been interesting is if chubb didn't blow out his knee, would he have gotten invited? I mean unless he took a nose dive he would have been up there with the leading rushers as well. I know its how this bs works but it annoys me that freaking henry got it this year. There were easily 2 or 3 other players that deserved it more than he did.
Agreed, I just posted that IMO there are easily 2 - 3 players that should have gotten it over henry. He was the popular pic at the time.
Awesome? No, actually, I think it would be kinda stupid and embarrassing. When representing your school, and standing in front of and alongside other former greats who won, you don't act like an asshat. The media people you think you are pissing off will also be writing about your career so why be stupid? It's not really an "american" contest because Mariotta is the only non-USC player from the West Coast to have won it in the last 50 or so years. The media East of Colorado doesn't stay awake to watch Pac12 games and with the SEC TV contract, they can see every SEC game quite easily. And I agree with you that if Chubb had stayed healthy, he'd have made the trip to NY. McCaffrey should have won IMO. He broke Saunders single-season all-purpose yards record and was the only FCS player to lead his team in both rushing and receiving. He doesn't get "credit" for his Rose Bowl performance but he broke records there too. His 368 all-purpose yards broke one Rose Bowl mark, and he also became the first player to exceed 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving in the game's history. He also set a Stanford single-season rushing record with 2,109 yards. But furd didn't make the final 4 so they went with the 5,000 carries/game Henry.
Henry dominated us and LF did shit. Whining about offensive lines or anything else is simply.excuses. Henry's a fine back and has a heisman.and NC. The one to blame is. Les miles no more no less.
Not acting like an asshat as far as I'm concerned. It's called bucking the system. And in not talking about grabbing his dick and saying fuck y'all niggaz. I would like to thank everyone, it's an honor, but one I cannot accept because I feel this award is a beauty contest and not an award for the best football player in the country. Thanks but no thanks. You don't think the media would eat that shit up? They'd love it.
