What is maddening is look at the LSU players Payton has passed on that would have been great. La'el Collins, PP, TM7, Hill, Blue.
He only got in because lynch was in the super bowl. Personally I think we should have kept Chris ivory. Yes I am referring to that guy.
Peterson was gone but yeah Collins and TM7 are unforgivable. We got that fucker from Texas (Vaccaro) who ain't worth shit.
We traded up 4 Cooks and Ingram so both cost more than just 1 pick. I still have hope for Cooks though. Guys his size are almost never top 5 receivers unless they have top talent around them.
cooks is good, but not trade up in the first round good and will never live up to that billing....odell beckham is that player...too bad we didn't get more aggressive and trade away more for Beckham....imagine a real qb throwing him the ball....stats would be that much more insane Ingram being a 1st and a 2nd....that has to be an Adrian Peterson type draft choice.....so big fail there....he's had a nice career after a very slow start but total failure when this team needed to hit on all there draft choices in the first 2-3 rounds.
Problem with Cooks is, by the time we could add enough talented weapons around him to pull some coverage, Brees could be gone. The lost picks in the Cooks and Ingram trades, the 2 lost 2nd round picks in Bounty Gate, shitty drafting, and trying to build the team with high-priced free agents have all combined to turn us into a below avg. team. We do have some young pieces, though. Snead, Anthony, Kikaha, Armstead, maybe Peat. Two more drafts like this past one and maybe we can make one more run at it if we keep Brees. We need the pre-Bounty Payton back....
