Kinda sad but fitting I suppose. Leonard Fournette of LSU was not among the three finalists announced for the Heisman Trophy Monday. The trophy will be awarded in New York Saturday night. The finalists, announced by 1998 winner Ricky Williams, include running backs Derrick Henry of Alabama and Christian McCaffery of Stanford and Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson. Fournette, a 6-feet-1, 230-pound sohomore, is the NCAA rushing leader among FBS schools with a 158.3 average in 11 games, followed by Henry with a 152.8 average. Fournette has rushed for 1,741 yards and 18 touchdowns in 11 games. He is one of three finalists, along with Henry and McCaffery, for the Doak Walker Award, which goes to the nation's best running back. That award will be announced Thursday in Orlando, Fla. http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2015/12/leonard_fournette_not_heisman.html
We have a power running offense and can't get the best RB in a generation even an invitation to NY. But 77%.
Thanks to Les Miles. And since Miles won't be changing anything for next year, then he won't be invited next year either. sad.
I don't think that's it this year. You would have been hard pressed to find anyone that didn't think Fournette had it wrapped up mid way through the season. I think the total collapse caught many by surprise. I don't think it's the number of losses, it's more that the team imploded.
