Can't argue with anything you say here, but the question becomes, why does it take LSU quarterbacks longer to become proficient than QBs in other major programs?

bc of the coachs philosophy. I think it's cute LaSalle isn't sure if it's the coach. what do you need 20 years of proof.

If he changes this year it only. took 62 years of his life to figure it out.

    1/9/12 never forget.

I'm well aware of the answer....just giving the person who thinks a 3-year developmental process is acceptable a chance to come up with it himself.

I think the injury played a significant part in his decline last year. I think Les' system heavily favors the run and great defense. That said, Les' best teams could throw it well enough. That's all that Harris has to do this year. Hit 60-65% of his passes, keep his interceptions down and deliver on 3rd down more than not. He will not need to throw for 300 yards a game, but if he can average 225 or so it will make our running game unstoppable.

As far as quarterbacks go, I think it's just the opposite. We've stuck with someone TOO LONG, and it 's not a player.

Mett was not a Miles product. He was at UGA then a community college that he led to a JUCCO National Championship berth. His soph season here, he did play in five game of which he completed 8-of-11 passes for 92 yards. He also entered late against Auburn, West Virginia, and Kentucky and did not attempt a pass as the team ran out the clock.

I wouldn't say JR was a Miles product either, really. He was in his Jr. season when MIles got here, I think.

I have heard and read that Craig, the new WR coach, has worked quite a bit with Harris on putting a little more touch on some of the shorter passes instead of rifling them in there no matter if his target is 5 yards out or 25. If Harris can do this effectively then I think he has a shot to have a nice season. He will never throw for 3500 yards and 30 TD's but we don't need him to.

Coaching my friend. We really don't throw the football enough for them to get a good feel for the game and on top of that our offensive line really hasn't been all that consistent in the passing game.
