I've always thought the Heisman generated much more talk than it deserves. I don't like the Fournette Heisman talk this early. I'd like for him to get 5-10 carries for Syracuse, E. Michigan, and W. Kentucky (assuming those games allow it). He needs to be fresh for the tough SEC games on the back end.
Also, this may be obvious but chasing the Heisman is not good for Fournette (less wear and tear for NFL), the team (need to keep him fresh for bigger games later), or the mindset of his teammates (just another distraction).
I agree and that's why I've always bitched about this award. It should go to the best player in CFB. Not the guy with the crazy stats, or the flavor of the year qb. If it were strictly for the best player in CFB, it would be Fournette's award.
Fournette is the rare freak of nature in that Adrian Peterson mold. He can easily handle 20 carries a game. But my guess would be, for the sake of momentum AND individual awards (which like it or not ARE important to players, recruits, and recruiting) they'll let him get enough carries the next couple of games to keep that avg yards per game above 150 and churn out a few more TD's...if the games dictate minimal use. Then come S.C. and Florida time really lay the load on him because the games WILL dictate it. CLM says he is not on a pitch count though.
