CollegeFootballNews.com picks four Tigers to go in the 1st round of next year's NFL draft. They are: 2. Tyson Jackson 12. Ciron Black 23. Herman Johnson 31. Darry Beckwith
So where will K. Pittman fall? I think he will have an outstanding year. Is he not first round material?
I don't know about first round, but he can definitely improve his stock with an excellent sixth season (I have to smile when I type that.) He's a rather unproven/unknown (in the eyes of the scouts) commodity at this point. Another year on the national stage with the defending champs will enhance his profile.
The two lists: 2. Tyson Jackson 12. Ciron Black 23. Herman Johnson 31. Darry Beckwith 6. Al Woods 15. Darry Beckwith 18. Tyson Jackson 27. Herman Johnson So one believes that Ciron Black will leave early, while the other believes that Al Woods will leave early. Well, Al Woods is going to be 2nd string this coming year unless we have some injuries, so there's no way he's coming out early. Ciron Black on the other hand, is a proven commodity at LT. I'm not sure that he's a first round pick though. I'd project him as a 2nd rounder right now. I can't disagree on the other 3 being first round picks. Tyson Jackson will probably have RJF next to him at DT, which means teams will continue to run away from him & he won't have a great season, but he will tear it up in the combine - enough to be a late first rounder, but not a top 10 pick. Herman Johnson will be another guy where NFL scouts fall in love with his measurables. But his play will back it up. You don't see many gaurds go in the first round though, so I'm hesitant to put him there. I think Beckwith will finally get the attention he's deserved for a long time this season. My only concern about him is injuries, as he always seems to get knicked up. If he stays healthy, he should definitely be a first rounder.
Other guys with potential: Demetrius Byrd, Brett Helms, and Ricky Jean Francois. Byrd will have to prove a lot this year as far as his ability to run more complicated routes. If he comes as far this off-season as he came during last season, his 40 time should bring him up to a late first rounder/early second rounder. Brett Helms is a guy that often gets overlooked, and I don't think he's a first rounder, but he'll be a quality pick-up late in the 2nd/early 3rd rounds. RJF will likely have a huge year, and should be able to come out as a top 15 pick.
