Pure speculation on my part but he must have been a problem in the locker room. As TF said his other off the field problems weren't major but being disruptive to the team chemistry would be a killer.
I admit I have no information to base this on but why else would Les get rid of his star and only proven QB?

 

IIRC there were also issues with him attending class, and the matter of a fight that took place outside the Varsity that he was involved with. He wasn't a monster, but trouble sure had a way of finding him on a regular basis, even after he knew he was on thin ice. And when he happens to be a star player, it's asking for locker room trouble. I hope he really has finally dropped the knucklehead behavior and gotten his head on straight.
