That actually sounds moderately interesting as long as they don't try to drag it out into like 20 episodes of them learning how to throw a knuckle ball.

clicking on "The Next Knuckler" link in that article, it makes it sound like it's just 4 episodes (Feb 13, 14, 20, 21):

"Following the premiere hour-long elimination episode of the The Next Knuckler on Wednesday, February 13 at 9:00 p.m. ET, the final three episodes will air on February 14, 20 and 21 at 10:00 p.m. ET"

"each episode will feature the contestants learning from Wakefield how to throw this baffling pitch before facing challenges to test the effectiveness of their knuckleball. One contestant will be eliminated from the competition in each episode based on his performance and input from Wakefield and Millar. The winner will earn an invitation to the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Spring Training camp and the chance to pitch for the D-backs in a Spring Training game."

Quarterbacks throwing knuckleballs??? Doesn't interest me at all. Now, if they were to ask RP how many chances Miles gave him and about his brush with counterfeiting and all then I'd be interested.

you never know with Josh Booty and RP... Booty was arrested on DWI, got into a tussle with deputies at the prison, and was tazed... and RP had all kind of wild allegations made against him at LSU...bringing a gun to the Varsity to confront someone, causing a scene at some restaurant, involvement in an money counterfeiting scheme, yada yada

The winner of the show is ex - Louisiana
State University quarterback Josh Booty ,
who at 37 will put his ability to the test
when he reports to camp at Salt River
Fields in Scottsdale , Arizona .

And here's a comment on RP from a Pittsburgh Pirates blogger who watched the show:

Perrilloux was working his tail off throwing
knuckle balls at one-thirty in the morning.
The guy wants it…bad. Wakefield told the
6’3″ right hander that he could tell that
Perrilloux really wants to win the
    competition, which impressed Wakefield.
When the camera was on the heralded
football recruit who got into numerous off
the field incidents at LSU and Jacksonville
State, it was easy to see the passion that
Perrilloux has for sports. He was also
crushing baseballs out of the park showing
    off his athleticism.

And comments on RP from LSU fans who watched the show:

After Perrilloux got cut, Wakefield and Millar
were trying to convince him to try and make
a run at becoming an outfielder
    professionally.

They showed him taking some hacks, and
the kid looked damn good. Knocked 2 HRs
out of 5 batting practice pitches.

RP was on 104.5 yesterday & he said he's
gotten calls from several MLB teams, most
notably the Royals, asking him to come work
    out at spring training.
    ... (he also) Sounds like
he finally got his shite together.

His attitude on the show was impressive..he
    was polite and grateful....Everyone was
joking around.. when Wakefield was giving
him instruction, he looked him in the eye and
responded with "Yes, sir".. seemed genuine
    and professional

For someone who has made so many stupid, easily avoidable mistakes I was really surprised how well spoken, mature, and determined that Perrilloux was. Hopefully the Royals or someone else gives him a shot. He is a talented guy.

Booty was throwing pretty nasty by the end. You have to wonder if he had tried this 10 years ago if he could have actually pulled it off. At 37 he's going to have to really amaze to get a shot.

The only thing i believe RP did at LSU was walk into a casino with a fake id. Everything else he was accused of was heavily investigated and law enforcement came up with nothing on him. I think he probably failed at least one drug test
