Oh good grief. Perhaps you mean some other kind of issues (diaper rash?) - but you clearly did not have any "LSU issues" in 1987. You were less than 1 years old. Why don't you just say: "Hey, I got really frustrated because LSU's offense imploded in the second half and rather than dealing with my disappointment in a positive way, I acted like a tool towards a bunch of people I don't even know...my bad, I guess the moment got the best of me" Trust me, it's really a liberating process. Here...I'll go first: "In 1987 (when I was 22 years old) I was ejected from the LSU student section for covering my head with nacho cheese and jumping around like Zorro while I pretended to joust a really, really big girl from the Baptist Student Union...Gertrude, if you're out there, I apologize, I was a real ass-hat that night" I feel much better.
It is kinda ridiculous to get upset at other fans, and for this to be an issue for 22 yrs. get over it, I highly doubt any player or coach looks up into the stands and says, "oh hell we should just quit, the guy in the upper deck is leaving", and if they do they then see the super fans and think, hey they guy in the upperdeck, the one who can see the field better than the ref, can call plays better than the coach is jumping there butts for leaving early so we better keep playing. I mean you put in you .02, but dont think it makes me less a fan, or you more a fan.
This. I would also add that anyone who gets so angry over something so trivial must have a pretty simple life. It almost makes you want to envy them. I had some a-hole yell crap at my 3 year old daughter and I when we were leaving a game early last year. She was tired and wanted to go home. It made me realize that some of the crap they say about LSU fans is probably true. Of course, you have classless people in every fan base. That's just life.
I'm assuming from your profile that you are a current student, maybe 20 or 21years old. When you get a little bit older, get married, have kids, have a career, mortgage, etc. you'll find that these kind of things are not really that important. You may even be one of the fuddy duds leaving early because you have to catch a red eye flight on business the next morning. In the meantime though I admire your passion for LSU football. I was the same way when I was a student. Nothing else really mattered. It was great. I'm still a rabid fan, it's just there are so many other priorities now, LSU football and sports in general are just a nice diversion from life.
At least with a drunk you can chalk it up to the alcohol, a sober person would just come off as an A$$. IMO
That's awfully nice of you to finally apologize to Gertrude. I'm not going to dignify the rest of that with a response.
