Forget coaching changes, we need fan changes.

I've left an LSU game once and it was back in '01 I think when we played Tennessee in Knoxville. Davey was the QB and I remember we lost pretty bad. I'd been sitting in a Vol section and for my own well-being, I left with about 5 minutes left (the game was definitely out of reach). Other than that, I've stayed til the very end of every game I've been to.

I'd also like to point out that LSU is undefeated in games where I am in Tiger Stadium, so I feel partially responsible for this loss, and for that I apologize. That being said, based on that record, I'm accepting ticket donations for the sake of our football team (once I get back from Iraq, of course). They need me in that stadium! :thumb:

That's probably the same for every campus; even Army fans were leaving prior to OT vs. Vandy (which could instigate a whole new negative thread).

However, at 5 minutes left, what had given anyone any indication LSU would do ANYTHING with the ball once/if they got it back? Not trying to be an ass, but that was painful.

Maybe LSU should consider more option after how productive that play has been the last two weeks.

I had to stay until the crowd died down due to a preggo wife and a friend with a broken foot. Having to wait an extra 20-30 minutes was well worth it. The band continued to play for a few hundred students who all sang the alma mater and other songs. It was great to see people upbeat despite the outcome of the game. There were also a bunch of players outside the stadium talking with people. Walking through campus was easy since few people remained. Once we got to the car, the traffic on Sacadian (I parked by the "beach") flowed non-stop to the interstate. I will probably take the same approach from now on.

Someone mentioned the traffic on Sorority row. Even as traffic was moving well in other places, it was like the Mobile Tunnel on 4th of July there.

Games being more of a social event than a football game. That's all.

An earful from me, a non-drinker, does not constitute as a screaming rant. I lost my voice after the interception (which, in my frustration, I had called, saying that these people leaving were quitting early). But I was definitely frustrated and asked them why they were leaving. When they said the game was over and continued to leave, I pointed out that the GAME WAS NOT OVER.

But the main reason that I was frustrated about this was the Alabama game last year- people leaving before WE BLOCKED THE KICK. That, in a nutshell, is silly.

I guess I'm just of the mentality that come rain or shine, I bleed purple and gold. If this team was 1-5 and not 5-1 I'd be in the stadium every Saturday night. I would love to see LSU be an exemplary program in every phase of the game, including the fans. We have a reputation of being loud- but what was it that CUM said in that banner last week? We quit, we give up, we don't back it up when the times aren't nice. I suppose that most people couldn't be expected to do so, but I sure wish they would.

    Two things...
    1. The above statements seem to contradict.
    2. You don't always need alcohol to be a jack*ss.

That's what they've become. Remember last year when a few games (UGA, I think for sure) had fans showing up into the start of the first quarter? People weren't even all seated until the game was started. That never used to happen.

I remember when the games were an event to fight in the stands instead of watching the crappyiness on the field!

    Breakdown of events:
    1. Conversation "game is over" "no, it isnt"
    2. Interception that I called.
    3. Ensuing cheer I lost my junk, screaming (with everyone else) "Is the game really over? Is the game really over?!" Over the last 20 years of watching games in TS, I've learned the proper way to cheer on defense and make noise without taxing my voice in the slightest- and it's not screaming. When I scream, I lose my voice.

And that was it. A calm but biting comment upon their return, and that was it.

I am as polite a person as you'll ever meet, but I've already discussed my past frustrations with the policies of LSU fans. It's been an issue with me since 1987 and will be forever.
