On the other hand, sometimes over-zealous fans can be worse than apathetic ones. There's a guy in our section that constantly berates anyone who isn't standing up on every play or anyone who isn't screaming their heads off on a particular cheer. He spends a lot of time with his back towards the field because he's angrily screaming at everyone behind him. When we lose a game, he spends the final minutes verbally abusing anyone who walks by him in the isle. Sometimes I leave a bit early just to piss him off. Usually, we're just walking down a section to watch the last few plays from better seats. What a tool.
Gee. Does he do that every game? Drunk and routy might be forgivable for one game but if it is a continuing problem, I might have one of the stadium officials talk to him. One bad fan can ruin the fun for a lot.
Pretty much. Last night he was pissed at everyone. He seems to have lot's of displaced anger, fueled by alcohol. But he has a good right to be angry...cause he's superfan and he's carrying the rest of us.
LSU really needs to address parking and traffic. It has gotten worse over the last few years and it's not due to an increase in fans. The parking has been reduced and the police often change the exit routes game to game which has left some stuck in their car (on campus) for over an hour just trying to leave. They have taken several free parking areas and turned them into to RV parking and now many have to park farther away than ever before. I wish they could find a way to use the railroad to move people several miles off campus. I know my day has increased by several hours over the last few years because I have to arrive earlier and leave later due to the WONDERFUL traffic plan. I think the LSU and BR police are great but when it comes to traffic control, they either don't have a clue or couldn't care less how long it takes traffic to empty out. I think this has more to do with the early departure than fair weather fans.
there are alot of those self exalted fans, looking down on all us bandwagoners from on on high. They are the upper upper echelon of fans. never question their fan dom or almighty ness. they are legends in their own minds :hihi: They berate you if you accidently get up to get a drink or go pee at the wrong time and you miss a play. never mind that you are just as pissed you missed the play now you have this Azz H ole to deal with. then there are those folks on (gasp) forums that think because you know what a screen play is and have an opinion, you are a band wagoner... BTW: Ive been a band wagoner since 1962. I should get the amazing bandwagoner award
Maybe some of these superfans will read this exchange and reconsider their nazi tactics...but I doubt it.
