A nation state has hacked the pentagon. Is this an act of war or is it espionage? I am sure the U. S. does the same world wide. If a foreign government is responsible should we bomb them? If a foreign government cyber attack caused the death of Americans should we bomb them for it. Do you think America has the ability to fight cyber war and are they involved in cyber espionage now. I believe that the NSA is neck deep in cyber espionage now and if there was a war with a major world power cyber war would be part of any attack by us or upon us. What should be the American response to cyber espionage or to a cyber attack? If a nuke plant was targeted and a meltdown equal to chernobyl happened here would that be grounds for a nuclear reprisal? Is there any act short of America being nuked herself that would be reason enough for a nuclear reprisal?

I always thought the government should employ hackers not arrest them.

I would bet that the U. S. is the worlds largest proponent of nation/ state cyber espionage in the world. I would bet we are hacking probably every other countries military computers as we speak. What would be the proper response to a cyber pearl harbor where thousands of amaricans died?

So what would you do? I mean you can't just start lobbing bombs... Maybe there should be a cyber seal team, that tracks these bastards down incognito and asks them to join or die!!

I say that cyber espionage is no diffrent than any other espionage. Hacking into another countries computer files is the same as tapping into their phone lines. We do it and every other spy agency does it. It's not really an act of war. If there is a cyber attack that is an act of war.
