I live in Athens. People like UGA's chances this year.

Nobody thought UGA would beat LSU last year.

Don't know why so many people are predicting such a huge beat down. ND is a senior laden bunch (around 25) who have been through a lot of tough games. They will not go gently into the night. Alabama will have to play their best game to win. In 1992, Alabama brought in the best defense in the land but got NO national respect. Bama was undefeated, but played a lot of close games with a strong running game and a great player in David Palmer (the deuce). Even though we were an 18 point dog to a great, 2 time championship Miami team, with a senior Heisman QB at the helm, Bama proceeded to kick the intestinal fortitude out of those hurricanes for 4 quarters. Never know how teams match up until game time. Pride and focus in the big moment will say far more then who you think you are.

I can't knock on the domers for the schedule they played. USC generally is not this pathetic on D, Oklahoma doesn't know what a run play is anymore, BC is usually better as is Pitt.

What gets me about Notre Dame is when you look at how they won some of these games, 3 point win at home vs Purdue, 3 point win at home vs BYU, 3 point triple OT win (gift) at home vs Pitt, had that been LSU, we would have dropped in the rankings, and the media and fans would be livid. What's wrong with LSU, only beating Purdue by 3 at home? But it's Notre Dame, and phrases like, champions win close games start to emerge. Fuck the domers fuck the gumps, Geaux Dawgs

Until they were the only undefeated people weren't using those phrases. They were saying wow ND might drop after that performance, or ND showing that it's not in the same class as Bama, Oregon, and K-State. If you look at us last year, there were some games where we were in serious trouble. Arkansas and Georgia. It took an energy spark known as the honey badger to get us going. Once we got going we rolled, but still.

    Interesting. Thanks.

I agree and posted as much in another thread. Reminds me of Texas vs USC when Texas pulled it off.

The idea that Team A played a more meaningful schedule than Team B on account of playing the 66th, 73rd, 113th, and 121st best teams as opposed to the 82nd, 84th, 127th, and 135th best teams is a joke when Teams A and B are supposed to be top 5.

    In other news.

Someone just defended Notre Dame by calling other people snobs.

Trying to determine which team is stronger by comparing schedule strength and the performance of each team against similar and/or different opponents is as crazy as the UL math my wife is using to explain to me that UL could beat LSU by 1 pt b/c of the scores of their games against Florida. Of course, I just agree with her and go about my business.

On a different subject, can any of you recomend some GA and Alabama fan sights that I could visit. I'd love to engage in some "conversation" with them prior to the game.

Tell your wife to shut her filthy mouth until ULL has actually scored a touchdown on LSU.

ND has followed the SEC formula this year... play good defense, score just enough to win. They are not, however, an SEC level team.
