    Not true...

Miles rarely calls plays and is known for letting his assistants do what they were hired to do. But he will come in and overrule when he feels necessary. The main reason he has a play chart is because he is not going to be like a fan in the stands waiting to see what play has been called. Crowton and Porter and even Stud butted heads when it came to what RBs would be in on which plays.

I had a long discussion about this with one of the assistants on the staff and another outside of the staff.

Come on dude. I know I did not use a laughing icon or anything, but the sarcasm went over your head? I must be slipping.

Who do you believe will get the bulk of the carries?

To start Ridley with Ford gaining more and more throughout the year. It will be pretty balanced all around IMO. Really can't gauge how many Murphy will get since he was in a non-contact jersey all Spring after the injury but I hear he still looked very good.

Rough estimate for the year assuming all stay healthy:

    Ridley 40%
    Ford 35%
    Murphy 20%
    Other 5%

Some have mentioned Shep getting a bunch of carries but I don't see but maybe 1-3 a game and most will be gimmick plays and WR screens.

I think Ware redshirts unless we have injuries.

Not much in game one i think. A handful of carries at first and then he has to earn more of them by his play.

well, like QBLuke said, Ford is an inside-the-tackles runner, and quite frankly, you need that in the SEC. i think they'll use Ford sparingly in the beginning of the season so that he'll be in mid-season form for the long haul. that seems to be how CLM likes to roll. of course when things aren't getting done like they should be, players have to be juggled around and then the coaches have to scrap their entire off-season game planning and ad lib and improvise as they go along. i think we saw a lot of that last season. blame it on what you will: the line, the QB, running game, crowton, etc., the fact of the matter, i hope and pray to the good Lord above, is that whatever offensive plays the team/coaches have been working on is able to be executed so that when the players get to the line, EVERYONE is on the same page. not sure about any of you guys, but that gets me all fired up inside just thinking about it. :po:

Wouldn't it be nice if the option is scrapped? Even if Shepard was running it, I would prefer it go the way of the dodo.

He was great at it in high school, but that was high school. Seems so wastefully predictable to me. And we are predictable enough! I want to believe he has bigger/better things planned for him.
