In some of yall's expert opinions, how much time (realistically) will we see Ford get. I hear he is a freak of nature and if that has any truth, I would think we could light up with 2 solid backs in the running game like bama did last year.

    What do yall think?

What I'd like to see: Seeing a lot of PT and splitting time with the seniors to keep fresh legs on the field.
What Les will do: Given his history with freshmen Ford will be lucky to get 3 touches per game.

I think early in the season, you're going to see a lot of Ridley and Murphy. They are the experienced backs and will get the nod. But in the event that Murphy isn't up to speed, or that Ford is just flat out kicking arse, then I think we'll see the coaches roll with it, or at least I'd hope so.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him get 1/3 of the carries. Murphy is a scat back type who will get a majority of the 3rd down snaps, and probably catch a lot of swing routes and screens. Ridley is a bruiser but also adept at catching out of the backfield. Ford is a true inside running back however and should be able to spell either one of them at any point, and do well. I think the coaching staff is expecting him to come in and contribue right away.

what I'm wonder is where is Ware in all this talk? have we forgotton who our token 5-star recruit in 2010 was . i would love to see Ware on the field but i believe because we have 3 backs with more experience he will be redshirt unless there is a freakish line of injuries like last year, but still after watching the army all American game i think Ware has a ton of potential.

he's going to be a true freshman.. let's enjoy Ford and Ridley for now  Ware does have tons of optential though :thumb:

fwiw I don't think Murphy will have to much to do with the offense outside of 3rd and long situations. I expect Ford and Ridley to split carries maybe with Ford taking over the starting spot in November.

I'm tired of wondering how the carries will be distributed. It gives me a headache. Ford looked great in the Spring Game and I hope he gets alot of carries. This is the breakdown I'm hoping for:
    Ridley-150
    Ford-90
    Shep-65
    Murphy-55
*assuming around 360 carries for the RBs

I think Ford is starting and getting the bulk of the carries by the third game of the season. He's that good.

I just don't see that happening. Even if he is the best option. We will find out this year how much influence Larry Porter had on the RB rotation.

I think Wilson has stated that he is going with the best.
