Look at miami the last few years... QBs 2002 4star Mark Gullion 2003 5star Kyle Wright 2004 4star Kirby Freeman 2005 none 2006 4star Pat Devlin A top teir team can get a highly rated qb every year... A top player typically has 2 choices... come in and start for 4 years for a struggling program (like Leak at Florida) or go to a top program, wait your turn, and start 2, maybe 3 years... after redshirting... LSU can still land this guy.. a tough sell, but they just have to convince him that while he may not start as early here, he will win more.. QBs are like pitchers.. they are more concerned with wins than with starts...
I hope you're right. But I do think that we're still going to be fine with or without a QB commitment for this class. ...but we are going to definately need 1 or 2 for next season if we don't get one this year.
I don't see Tim Tebow coming to LSU. He can go to Bama and compete for the starting job right away. At LSU he's got three QBs all ahead of him. And for those who don't want to face reality, they need to because JaMarcus Russell is our QB and will be for a while.
We will likely lose one of the three qbs in the next year or two... Russell could leave early, maybe after next year... Flynn could transfer if he is 3rd on the depth chart... Perrilloux could transfer because if Flynn beats him out... Once Perrilloux is the starter, he could be gone after his redshirt soph year if he lives up to his potential... Tebow could come in and redshirt and start by his junior year...
Besides him being the top QB in teh country, wanting to visit..for whatever reason..which will look good natioanlly...this documentary he is filming is on ESPN. Basically, when the segment runs it will be a nationally televised promo for LSU..they're going to follow him around the facilities, have the coaches talking about it, get to show off our stadium and how loud and impressive it is (he was there for AU game). Basically, how could they say no to a big ass ESPN informercial for LSU?
No I'm saying LSU's decision to flirt with Tebow was a no brainer...besides him being a top QB, they will also get a free LSU informercial which airs on ESPN out of the deal. btw, I do think Tebow's visits to LSU had a little to do with building a storyline, although I also think he had legitimate interest in the program/Fisher.
Never bad to have the top high school QB for the second year in a row talking about coming to your school. If all we get is positive publicity I'll take it.
I think Tebow is out....Javon Snead has de committed from florida and is going to Texas.....so it looks like its gonna be a race between bama and florida now to get Tebow...
Tebow is a solid guy...runs like a freakin fullback. He really is a perfect fit for their system (even though I think Urban's offense sucks). One of Tebow's recruiting buddies Jamar Hornsby 5* just commited to the Gators so that may sway him.
