If memory serves, part of the NCAA's agreement with espn about 360 is that it has to be available on campus. Plus LSU is it's own ISP, Cox just handles the tv service.
Nah, not the case. As far as the users on campus are concerned, may as wlel be though. Latest IT alert from main campus IT that I just received in email: "The following is a technical alert from the Information Technology Services department. Summary of Issue: Campus is experiencing slow internet connectivity. We have contaced our internet provider and are working to sovle the problem. Expected Resolution Time: Not currently know Affected Areas: Entire Campus If you are still experiencing problems after the expected resolution time and haven't received an update from the ITS Help Desk, please contact us at 578- 3375. Thank You"
Yea its a crock of crap. Don't get me started on the failure if IT-Info. espn360 has been loading for about 15 minutes on my system. complete crap. You would think with all the students off the network, it would actually work better.
They tend to throttle down the bandwidth over the summer. ie pay their isp for less bandwidth during summer months to save money..... Although they deny this, it is painfully obvious based on monitoring we do. I have about 2000 users on campus who use that connection year-round. Constant struggle during the summer for us!
yeah so do we. Managing this with fulltime experiments that are located off site are a pita. Having fun with the re-address yet?
