Nootch says it's illegal but I'm not sure. When Miami still had swagger a lot of former Canes were active in the program of their alma mater.
If more players got involved (I know several have) like PP7, Honey Badger, LF7, etc. and came out and volunteered at more camps and used their platform to help get more talent in Baton Rouge to help get LSU back quicker, that would be badass. I know PP7 and Badger and many others help, especially financially. But at the end of the day, it's not their responsibility and honestly we shouldn't have to rely on that.
The moral of my story was to say I agree. Instead of saying we are mediocre, I expected Spears to say we are a creative offense and a couple of in-state recruits away from competing for it all. And that's what every swinging dick and the ladies here thought just a few weeks ago. Now the players aren't being coached up anywhere on the team, the effort is beyond lackluster which is also coaching and this team is on the verge of getting blown out by any sec team that's halfway on the same page. Syracuse was no joke even though they are and miss st lost by 4 tds and didn't score a touchdown vs uga after blowing us out.
Well lets start here. Herman has success as a Coordinator, no success as a head coach and so far still none there. He took over a cluster of a situation, agreed but I would say we are seeing that miles didn't leave us in great shape either. Also Herman once it looked like he was going elsewhere started phoning it in not to mention the horrible loss to Maryland of all people. I was high on Herman (in fact he was my 1st choice) but the way he started phoning it in toward the end of his tenure at Houston made me worry about him. I honestly don't know if he will last in Austin. He has to win and win now or those crazy ass boosters over there will not put up with 2-3 years of crap. They have been eating shit sandwiches since they hired Strong so I think he is on a very very short time table. Yes Fisher has done well, and frankly I want him no where near BR. I just remember bubble screen the whole damn time he was here. That guy was never coming here any way, with all the baggage he has (the ex-wife and the child with a significant medical issue, not to mention a top notch facility who takes care of what his kid has). Again just to point out he is currently 0-2 for the season and will not be sniffing a new years day bowl this year. Really you mean the one run that he had as a head coach. Well lets hold that over his head forever, because no one has ever had a disaster tenure of head coaching and then gotten chance 2 and done well. Well actually there was this guy Bill Belichick who coached Cleveland and got fired because of the disaster of coaching he did ( 36–44) then he got a second chance and from what I have head is doing ok. Then you know there is this other guy I have heard of Pete Carroll (fing hate that guy) coached NY and didn't do so great, some college gave him a shot and he did pretty good, now he has another gig in the NFL and is doing pretty good there also. So I guess we have to take that and assume Eaux will be horrible. Oh and lets just conveniently forget that he both of his interim stents (with teams that looked DOA) he went 6-2 both instances finishing 2nd in the division. Not to bad I would say. Again except for the whole taking dumpster fire situations at 2 different schools and turning them into damn strong endings to the season (2nd in the division in both cases) It is obvious you don’t like O as our coach. Tough shit, he will be here for at least 2-3 more years because we can’t afford the buy out. Again point to me a coach that would have this team looking better? You have to admit where we are we are thin as hell in the O-line, D-line, and QB development has been garbage. All of these are not O's fault, now if this shit doesn't get turned around in a year or 2 I will be right there with you calling for a change. But to assume he will fail and damn near sounding like you want him to fail just to satisfy you belief that he is not or was not the right choice is an foolish. Again he was not my first choice but he is the guy. I like that I am seeing improvement week to week (less penalties, actually got the future QB in for real reps, an ally broussard like running back in williams, ect). We will be a strong force sooner than later, this will be a stressful and trying year for sure. It will all be good though.
O's record as a head coach doesn't come close to approaching Saban's at MSU or Swinney in his early tenure at Clemson. It's much worse. I also thought we should, at least, interviewed Fleck. But we didn't, and I think most would admit that this O experiment will likely lead to another firing, but with a team in much more disarray than when Miles was fired.
let me clear it up a bit. it’s perfectly legal to be involved with the program. it’s also perfectly legal for Spears to say great things about LSU on TV. it is not legal for him to place a one on one call directly to potential recruit to try and talk him into coming to LSU.
signed, K Faulk (that was for the Trojan lady cause I know it's killing her to keep her trap, shut.).
Herman has been a head coach for a total of 29 games so far. he has 2 fewer career wins than Ed Orgeron has coached nearly double the amount of games. that bubble screen you gripe about is still one of the best offenses in school history here. Rohan and Jamarcus still hold school records under him as OC. Haven’t sniffed QB play like that since he left. name me one guy who has the worst winning percentage in the history of his previous school that got another gig and competed for conference titles. had an 11 win season and is the last guy to win a playoff game in Cleveland. while obviously not as bright as he is doing now, that is not a disaster. and is definitely not historically bad. 1st year as head coach ever went 6-10. left after that season. Guy that followed him went 3-13 then 1-15 next two seasons. not vince lombardi, but again hardly a disaster. Carroll then went to New England for 3 years. won a division title, never finished below .500 again, not Bill Walsh, but definitely not a disaster. interim does not equal full-time head coach. i’m not rooting for O to fail. Just the opposite. I hope he is successful as hell. obviously the QB situation is not on him. but we’re thin on the lines because we had mass defections once he was hired as full time HC. Why did they leave? none of us know, so i’m not going to just blindly blame the last guy (who was no longer employed when the defections happened). They happened on O’s watch, not the other guy. you see us having fewer penalties and putting in Brennan as being improvements. i see us getting boat raced in a game we was favored to win and follow it up looking wholly uninterested and disjointed the following week. When O was at Ole Miss, his teams looked sloppy, not enthused, and generally discombobulated. Right now, that also describes how we look. is it youth and inexperience? maybe, but we’ve been young and inexperience before without looking this disjointed. or is it coaching? remains to be seen. but we’ve seen other schools turn over a coaching staff and not look like this. and we’ve seen O as a head coach look just like this. so forgive me for having very little confidence right now. we were told all during his interim run and all offseason that this was going to be seamless. that we had the talent to compete right now. that there was going to be no growing pains. that we don’t have to rebuild, just need a different coach. that O was going to be an immediate improvement over the last guy. but now that the season has started, none of the above is actually true. this is not seamless. this has turned into a rebuild. this is NOT an improvement over anything we’ve had since the 90’s we now look like liquid dogshit and need a complete overhaul. and we have to trust that a guy that has never in his life successfully built even one side of the ball as a coordinator can do it to an entire team. not only has he never done it, but in his one shot he was historically bad. worse than Curley Hallman bad. and so far in this stint he has gone from top 15 to looking like DiNardo’s last two years here.
