He wins way more games than he loses, has won two SEC championships and played for more, he runs a clean program and is a first class person but the fans are in a meltdown mode and calling for his head. No, I'm not talking about Les Miles. I'm talking about Georgia HC Mark Richt. With a seemingly easy path to the SECCG and a shot at the playoffs the Dawgs fell flat on their faces Saturday against the hapless Florida Gators in their biggest rivalry game and dropped completely out of sight as far as national relevance goes. The fans are getting tired of every year winning 8 to 10 games and never contending for the National Championship.
Firing Richt would be a huge mistake. There is no bigger gulf between perception and reality when it comes to how UGA fans view their team in the CFB pecking order. (Perception = we should contend every year. Reality = UGA is a second-tier power)
Isn't UGA up there in the top five of supplying recent talent to the NFL? If so, I would agree with the Dawg fans who think they should contend every year.
There have been a lot of players who were from Georgia who went to other schools who have been drafted by NFL teams.
They should contend and they are usually in the discussion. It's those 2 dumb losses every facking season. They either have the QB they need but missing certain skill players or they have the skill players but a 5th year QB who is just average. Richt should stay. Bobo needs to go.
