...spare us the lectures and GET SOME FREAKIN BANDWITH !!

Since when did the simple act of members using the forum become "stupid crap?" (See below).

TF has been locked to members only since mid-day, and yet they still can't handle the volume of ~250 users? I don't recall it being like this when we got the nod for the NC gane back in 2003.

Sorry for the rant, but if you're having problems with site then just say so...but don't blame the posters for those problems.

    Sheesh!

I was thinking we could limit access of non-contributors during the busy times. Nolimt said it was done on another site. You get it for free so stop bitchin at a mod's suggestion, lil respect eh?

He was right on target, btw, there were ridiculous threads being started.

There's a handful of mods and there are people starting threads on the same topic and there are people coming on here to start crap. I can only imagine that this is very frustrating to a mod. Were you even here earlier when it was chaos? I didn't think so.

I don't remember it being like that back in 2003 either.

I will say that is has gotten kinda back to normal in the last 30 minutes or so.

The problem has to more than just superfulous theads...the system is currently limited to registered members only and it still takes a very, very long time to load and navigate.

I can understand the frustration this must cause to the mods and the TF managers...but blaming the users?? C'mon.

I hope this can be resolved with a technical soultion (versus lectures).

Blaming your contributors (of content) is not the answer.

I wanted to be...the site would not load. I was here in 03 though, and I don't recall this happening. Again...if there's a bandwith problem, put a sticky up and ask for patience...but don't blame the folks who want to use the site.

One solution is to only let contributors on the board.

in '03 it could have been a different datacenter hosting, could have been because there were no ads for non-contributors in 03, etc.. lots of stuff could have changed between now and then... it's going to get better.
