Yes it does suck. Basically you can only have greyshirts/count back if you are under the 85 and 25 the previous year. Now that we know Lee is gone and we have to petition the NCAA for Fordham to get a scholly this semester we may have 1 greyshirt available in 2011. IF the NCAA denies Fordham we are at 24 in 2010 and if we only give out 84 scholarships this season then we could count one back if someone enrolls early from the 2011 class.
Sounds about right. About 25 a class (24 last year and 24 or 25 this year) then throw in a couple of walk-ons. Plus there is less time for attrition to hit the most recent classes and usually guys who leave the program leave because they have not hit the depth chart or because of injury which most often happens later in their career.
