Can someone explain how Tiger fans can purchase/maintain season tickets? Is it anything like a PSL? If so, what do you like or dislike about it? TIA
Not really like a PSL. Every season ticket holder pays fees and dues to our athletic fund and have 1st option to keep the seats you had the previous season. If seats of similar or lesser value are available we can choose to change seats if not accounted for by another season ticket holder. If we want to upgrade seats we must make contributions to fund that helps make improvements to University which go toward acquiring points to move you up the wait list for better seats. We do not own the rights to the seats and a PSL wouldn't make much sense in our case because we rarely have other sporting events in our stadium.
Personal Seat License which is used by many stadiums with NFL teams. You pay for a PSL which gives you rights to your seat no matter why sporting event is being held. Then you pay for your season tickets.
A glorified way for teams to extort money from season ticket holders. What good are the tickets if you have no place to sit?
So USC is "exploring" the idea of PSL's as a way to fund the Coliseum renovation. The cost would be above and beyond current amounts both for support group members and season ticket holders. I am beyond livid. We haven't put a winning team on the field in quite some time and potentially even longer. How in hell do they want to charge long time supporters for renovation when the University has millions at it's disposal? Based on the amounts they mentioned in a survey I received, I would have to give up my seats. I have been a season ticket holder and support group member for almost 20 years. Then I think about what else I would see at the Coliseum.....zero.
