Coleman had proved to be a great special teams player, which is about as relevant as Jones being a great dime package player - because neither one is the SS spot. What makes you say that? He'll be playing both LB & Safety this Spring, that doesn't exactly scream second string FS to me. Supposedly he's a great safety, but he's not a great nickel back because he can't stay with receivers for long.
Al Woods is the prototype for a 2-gap DT. Although we don't run a 2-gap scheme, I still think Al should stay on the D-line.
I can definitely see John Williams in that running back/slot back kind of role. One of those "get him the ball in space" roles would suit him well, I think. Didn't see it coming, though.
I see Jones playing the role that Steltz played the last few years... Nickel hybrid LB/SS type guy... basically a smaller linebacker who can cover the slot... Same role that McCray tried to play this year but sucked at... Also gets him closer to the box for blitzing...
Supposedly Jordan Corbin has been moved to DE (from TE). There was a lot of talk about him being moved to DE last year, and I think this could be a good move. I was really high on him as a recruit, but he was injured his senior year. He had some surgeries last year, and I'm not sure if he is up to full strength again.
