Nope - you are looking at it the RIGHT way. The season has two games left and I for one am glad of it. SECCG and Sugar Bowl.....that would be fine. Not as fine as NC, I'll grant you, but a fine season none the less. ldskule:
DON'T GIVE UP ON ANY POSSIBILITY..........I PLAYED MAJOR COLLEGE FOOTBALL AND ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN....THE LIGHTS ARE DIM RIGHT NOW, BUT THE NC, ALTHOUGH REMOTE IS STILL POSSIBLE...LOOK AT THE OHIO STATE.......DROPPED NEARLY OUT OF THE PICTURE..AND BAM..WITHOUT EVEN PLAYING ARE INCHING BACK TO NC PICTURE..........HOLD ON TO YOUR TICKETS!!!!!!!! IF YOU DON'T WANT TOO, LET ME KNOW...WILL BUY....
Floridaguy, If you played college ball and have felt this way before what does the football players, not the fans, do to turn this upcoming week around? The extint of my playing was highschool and that was over 10 years ago. I for one have had a day to let it soak in and now am getting over the loss, not completey yet. I still have 2 more times to watch my Tigahs play and one is for a championship, something Les and the boys have not had yet in 3 years.
10-2 is great, just like last season and the season before. It just hurts because the last two years that has happened we weren't projected to go to the NC game. This year we were. The last two years would have been pleasantly surprising to get to play for all the marbles; this year it was expected of us all season. It just feels like a different, less satisfying 10-2. We're on the fast track to New Orleans and then in the final week we drop it. I just hope we win the conference.
"Driver. Driver! Could you please stop the bandwagon? I want to get off. And by the way, when is the West Virginia bus coming through to pick me up?" Want to be that kind of "fan?" Fine. Quit posting. Sell all your LSU memorabilia and wait til five minutes after the Super Bowl and World Series to decide what team you "love" and what hat you are going to buy. Tell the truth: You wrote this wearing a Red Sox cap with Yankee and Colts caps gathering dust in a closet, didn't you?
That is completely unrealistic and you would be saying even worse things if we actually made it but lost the NCG. Title shots don't just happen over again, and when they do, people don't just easily win. Since the BCS inception, no school has more than 1 :crystal:, despite some schools having played for it more than once. So many things have to fall in place for that to happen, but an SEC championship is always in your control. We are playing for that, a chance to represent the SEC as champs in the Sugar bowl, a top 5 ranking, and the future of our program, which depends upon continued success. To suggest the season is over because we came close but missed is a bit harsh. How would you feel if you were Oklahoma, with 2 losses in the NCG and 2 losses in successive years to keep you out of it again? Suicidal? Considering the loss of key offensive players, an OC, and this last set of distractions with Michigan, I think we have had a magical season so far. No coach has done what Miles has done and if you insist on parroting the same complaints(directly from our rivals mouths, I might add), of "more talent then anyone", you will never be satisfied. The legendary Spurrier that ruled the SEC at Florida won ONE NC. Bowden with his team in the top 5 for 15 STRAIGHT YEARS, only won two NC with those teams. Playing for, much less winning a NC every year, may be a bit unrealistic.
the governor has granted us a reprieve this tim tebow fella is wise beyond his years even though he still types in caps.
Somebody had to go dig up an old thread. I'm here and accountable and was wrong at least half way. The Saints are done. Thank God the Tigers made me eat the crow. I've already got my plane ticket as stated in other post, the only game I could afford to come back for was the NC. Done deal. I guess I should practice some Jimmy V...Never, never give up!
