A post like this just cracks me up. I wouldnt say this guy was a pot stirrer because we arent supposed to call out other board members. And no, I wont call him an imbecile or clueless idiot with $hit for brains because thats against our posting policy. Similarly, I wont say this poster is an enemy trying to rile up the faithful by using cheap tactics because that would make him a jerkwad and again we dont call out other posters. So I'll just say this poster has no credibility and will refrain from calling him any names even if they apply.
Ok,,, so I want LSU to get all the great players... & I get nervous when we seem to lagging a bit.. & I have been pulling for them since the 50's. I am not suppose to have a right to a opinion or the freedom to express it if its different than yours? I am a pot stirrer, enemy, idiot? I think not. Sorry if I get a little nervous & it offends you... Go Tigers
for someone who doesnt follow recruiting that closely it would be easy to be worried about our star ratings by scout and rivals. But don't worry, Miles and his staff haven't forgotton how to judge talent and if they didn't think some one was capable of being a big time player on a championship caliber team they wouldn't have offered them a scholorship this early in the recruiting process.
LSU will get no 5 star recruits this year except Deangelo Benton out of prep school. If he can manage to qualify. LA and MS have no 5 start recruits this year for some reason, and we aren't truly in the running for anymore 5 star recruits. They just aren't around this year geographically. Texas has a few 5 stars, Alabama has 2, and FL has a bunch. An interesting fact is the top 3 recruits in Texas didn't commit to Texas.
One 5 star is fine. We only get 1-2 a year anyway. The real key is the 4 star players. Look for a few of our current 3 star commits to jump to 4 stars. As for not 5 stars being interested in us, I'm going to have to disagree. We'll be in it right until the end with several, and I expect us to get 1 more in addition to Benton.
Miles said recently that he expects 50-80% of his recruits to make it to the NFL. This coaching staff has a great ability to judge talent. I've said it before & I'll say it again, I've never seen any coach with a better track record of having his recruits jump up in the rankings as they play their senior year than Miles. When we have "lower rated" guys commit to us early, people complain. But the coaching staff obviously feels very good about these guys or otherwise they wouldn't offer them & accept their commitments so early. The guys to be concerned about are the ones that don't get offered scholarships until late in the process because that usually means we are settling.
To all the Tiger Faithful: The only stars that count are the ones our coaching staff assigns prospects!! ST
exactly, thats why we have our team so high now, and our players in the NFL. not because they were 5 stars on Rivals...But because our coaches saw the potential and molded each player into the talent they are now.
